“W.A.R.” – What Is It Good For?

With 2 years worth of set backs and delays July 4th marks the day the Low Flow Playaz finally get their chance to declare “W.A.R.” But with two years worth of anticipation could the album deliver and live up to the hype? Right away you can hear that determination and raw emotions that bellows through with each bar, setting the mood for the entire album and showing that L.F.P. may have had some stumbles along the way, but they never lost their footing at what they do best. As Flazh and Apollo Greed exchange lines back and fourth on each track you start to realize that with two distinct voices, although very different, they dance, and flow flawlessly over the beats. This difference is what gives L.F.P. that grittiness. Taking from regional influences they mix rapid fire delivery, with rhythmic harmony to create that very unique Low Flow sound that has set this group apart from the packs of other artists. Although L.F.P. have collaborated with some of the best talent out the Midwest (i.e Newsense of Psychodrama, Freddie Gibbs, MCG’Z, Father Tyme, etc) on the new LP, W.A.R., the only people taking center stage are Apollo and Flazh. This is a very refreshing take on a hip hop album, and in some instances unheard of. It also shows that they are confident in the product they have created. As you flow through the punchline heavy lyrics of Flazh on “We Stay On” intertwined with Apollo’s melodic harmonizing on the chorus, this track jumps out at you with a perfect example of true Low Flow style. In the first 5 seconds something about the track in titled “Sick” that just pulls your finger away from the next button on your iPod, and tells that motherfucker to spin right. With countless albums under the Low Flow Playaz belt, W.A.R. quickly is rising to the top of that list with each play with help of songs like “This Is Me” and “So Real.” Produced, recorded, mixed and mastered, just about every aspect of this album was created and cultivated in house by L.F.P. themselves. Overall this album is vintage Low Flow Playaz through and through and W.A.R. delivers on the anticipation set 2 years ago. “We still here bitch, like a bad habit”
