[VR Xclusive] Yello Boi – We Right Theyyaa

I haven’t meant to turn this site into a 219 movement site, but it is what it is. The region needs a voice, and I like to be loud, so there you have it. Now this next artist I’m leaking isn’t from Indiana, he’s from Texas, but he’s been calling Indiana home for a hot minute. The artist, formerly known as Dead Bodiez, now goes by the name Yello Boi, and is one of the rawest engineers and producers so stake claim ’round these parts. His music is a cross between Dirty South trunk music, and Midwest Gangsta Shit, and even though some may think those two wouldn’t mix, well…,they’re wrong. This leak is off his forthcoming 3rd Coast Born album. The song. ‘We Right Theyyaa” is what I would consider a club/ let you know the business track I guess. The beat is bouncy, and get’s your head noddin’ and Bodiez (sorry, I’m used to referring to him as that) gives you the business over the bouncy track. When you on the floor at the club and this comes on, just don’t spill ya drink on the people next to you, cuz you just may end up in the graveyard.

[VR Xclusive] Vizion – Never Break

The time has come. More specifically, our time has come. Every few years a different region of this glorious country (if you can call it that nowadays) gets their chance to shine in the spotlight of the music industry. Well every region but the Northwest Indiana region. I know some of you are reading this right now, and thinking, Northwest Indiana? Yes, you read that correctly. Situated a mere 25 minutes from Downtown Chicago, “The Region” as people in the Midwest know it, has constantly, despite the hotbed of talent, has gotten pushed to the back burner. Don’t believe me. Google such artists as The Grind Family, C.C.A., Ric Jilla, Freddie Gibbs, and not but not least, Vizion. They all have reached regional, and national success, whether they graced magazine covers such as Murder Dog, were featured on video game soundtracks, movie soundtracks, or commercial campaigns. Shit, even C.C.A., and The Grind Fam broke through, and entered the Billboard Charts at one point. After being at a stand still for a few years, “The Region” artists are now poised to get the recognition they deserve. Freddie Gibbs, a Gary bred MC has been in regular rotation on MTV with his video “The Ghetto”. With the door being broke down, artists from the area have started banding together to create a soon to be unstoppable movement. With that said, I, Rob Villain, have vowed to do whatever it takes to get exposure for some of the hardest working MC’s in the area. In the coming weeks, Villain Radio will be releasing a mixtape featuring the most talented artists from the state. The tape, titled Indiana Legends will showcase what I’ve known for years. That we have some of the best MC’s in the game. To start things off, I have hand picked Vizion to lead us out the gate. Never heard of him? Google him. you’ll be more then surprised about his accomplishments, and the funny thing is, he don’t care about what he has achieved, he just wants to be heard. A lil’ cocky, and arrogant, but humble and self aware, he is the epitome of what am MC should be today.

So with no further ado, Villain Radio and Vizion present to you…..”Never Break”, the first official single from Indiana Legends.

VR Xclusive: Soope – My City

Ok, so here’s the deal. Every muthafuckin’ section of the country has basically got their shine on, or a chance to shine in the industry spotlight.

Except the Midwest.

Sure Twista, Kanye, Eminem, and Nelly have had their success rackin’ up platinum plaques, and ringtone sales, but the Midwest as a whole, is much, much bigger, and more diverse then you would imagine.

Like the above mentioned artists, the Middy Mid is chock full of underground talent that has tasted regional success, especially in the Northwest Indiana/ Chicago area. Ric Jilla, Thugged Out, The Grind Family, and C.C.A. have all been at the brink, only to be pulled back to the streets  over bullshit or bad business deals, or in C-Mack from C.C.A.’s case, incarceration.

Well guess what you fuckers?

We about to blow!!!

With the industry door bein’ currently blown off the hinges by Gary’s own Freddie Gibbs, the aforementioned artists are poised to reenter the industry foyer much more hungrier then the first time around.

Take former Grind Family member Soope for example. After major magazine covers, features, multiple roster changes, fucked up industry politics, and everyday bullshit, he’s still here, feet firmly planted in the booth.

And he’s callin’ us together to create a movement so big, it cannot be ignored.

In almost five minutes Soope shouts out everyone in the 219 that’s real about they music shit, and he does it in song form, this isn’t some outro track that he’s ramblin’ thank yous and shit like they were closing credits. This man is straight givin’ you the business, and for what it’s worth, the joint is dope as fuck, and I’m not sayin’ that because he shouts out Nu Era (VillainRadio’s parent company) in the song. I’m sayin’ it because it’s something that could of should of been done a long time ago.

So in a VillainRadio Xclusive, I present to you……

VR Xclusive – Happy 4:20: Freddie Gibbs – Personal OG

No introduction is needed really. We all now know what gangsta Gibbs is capable of, and his penchant for crafting timeless smoke anthems, so your damn str8 you can add this one to “Higher Learning” & “Smoke Away The Pain (Sky High)”. The track is the latest leak from the forthcoming Str8 Killa No Filla and was produced by Block Beattaz. Roll up, spark it, inhale, and enjoy……and after the jump there’s pic video of the song as well……

In the words of Freddie himself, “Smoke som’n bitch”.

VR Xclusive: Freddie Gibbs “The Ghetto” Video Shoot Photos

ghetto

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last 6 months you know that Freddie Gibbs is the hottest in the game right now. In the last year he has released 2 critically acclaimed and street approved mixtapes, been in the New Yorker, graced the cover of L.A. Now that you’ve been brought up to speed, here’s what tha bizness is. Freddie was back in Tha G this weekend to shoot the video for his newest single, and even tho I don’t know if Archie wants me to describe it as a single ya’ll will be seein’ the flick on a major video outlet, so that’s why I’m categorizing it as a single (Arch, correct me if I’m wrong).
